In 1830 he built ''the brick house'' on Albion Road. Successive generations of the Murch family lived and farmed here. Simeon was known as a successful and progressive farmer and town records say the bricks to his home were made on-site. Simeon used the English bond method of bricklaying which is considered one of the strongest brick construction methods known, and is still used today. Nearly two-centuries later, Simeon's gorgeous, Cape-style, brick farmhouse is as strong as ever and retains many original features. High ceilings, horse-hair plaster walls, deep window wells, wide-plank, pine floors, hand-made pitted glass panes, original moldings, woodwork and doors, several original Norfolk latches, staircase flourish, a one-meter wide original front door, granite lintels and a granite and brick walk out cellar.
